WASHINGTON, DC -- 6/2/20 -- Protestors link arms and ascend the steps of the Lincoln Memorial at the end of a march. Federal riot police faced them, ready to use force to defend the monument, but the protest remained peaceful.
In Washington DC, protests were peaceful a day after President Trump had federal police clear Lafayette Park with tear gas and rubber bullets for a photo op. Protestors marched throughout the city, stopping for nine minutes every nine blocks to mark the time George Floyd spent with a knee on his neck.
Peaceful protests continue after the killings of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and Ahmaud Arbery by law enforcement and white supremacists. Civil unrest has continued for over a week throughout the country.â¦by André Chung #_AC22429
